Transforming coffee villages — one community at a time
A vertically integrated coffee enterprise that returns maximum value to the farmers who grow it. Starting in Kitugutu Village, Uganda.
Ugandan coffee — both Arabica and Robusta — ranks among the finest in the world. The majority is exported to Italy and across Europe, where it commands premium prices in cafes and retail shelves.
Yet the farmers who grow it receive only a few thousand Ugandan shillings per kilogram — the raw commodity price set by distant markets they cannot reach.
All the value created by Ugandan coffee — the roasting, the branding, the retail markup — flows to other countries. The farmers remain trapped in subsistence, while vast wealth leaves their villages each harvest season.
European countries offer free or nearly-free university education, funded in part by the value extracted from commodities like Ugandan coffee.
Ugandan coffee farmers must pay school fees out of pocket. Many children cannot complete their education. Villages lack secondary schools entirely.
Importing countries provide free or subsidized medical services. Their citizens benefit from the full value chain of products they did not grow.
Rural coffee-growing communities lack basic health facilities. Birthhouses are distant, medicines are expensive, and preventive care is absent.
The Ugandan Farmers' Benefit (UFB) initiative is a vertically integrated social betterment project. We eliminate middlemen entirely — from farm to international coffee shop — and reinvest profits directly into the communities that grow the coffee.
Each village or parish becomes the primary seller of its own coffee products, not just a supplier of cheap raw cherries to distant exporters. By controlling processing, branding, and international distribution, we capture the full value of the coffee — and return it to the people.
Instead of a few thousand shillings per kilo, farmers can earn ten times that amount. The difference funds schools, health clinics, and direct cash payments that transform entire communities.
Every coffee cherry that enters our processing is hand-selected at peak ripeness — bright red, never green. This is the standard that specialty coffee shops recognize and reward.
No green coffee is added. No shortcuts. Every bag that leaves our village carries the full flavor profile that only properly harvested and processed cherries can deliver.
We know every farmer by name. We track every harvest. The result is true single-origin coffee with complete traceability — from a specific village, a specific season, to a specific cup.
Available at minimal cost even to non-partner farmers
Mechanical or hand-sorting to grade beans by size and quality
In-house manufactured or locally sourced grinding machines
Roasting machines manufactured in-house to international standards
Vacuum-sealed bags with village-specific branding and origin story
Each final coffee product is linked to the specific village or parish where the coffee was produced. The packaging tells the village's story — single origin, specialty coffee, direct from the farmers.
All products undergo rigorous quality checks and certification by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). Trademark registrations and export documentation are handled by UFB.
During the harvest season, we can collect approximately 50 tonnes of coffee per month. We can help coffee importers buy standard-grade coffee at competitive prices.
Our condition is simple and non-negotiable:
At less than half the price of comparable specialty single-origin coffees, this represents exceptional value. Your coffee shops gain:
Your brand, your package — our coffee, our mission. We will roast, package, and label the coffee under your brand name. Every bag carries your identity alongside the coffee's origin. Two conditions are non-negotiable:
This is a partnership that benefits everyone: you receive exceptional single-origin coffee at an unmatched price, your customers taste the quality and know their purchase makes a real difference, and Ugandan farming communities receive the investment they deserve.
Farmers receive regular payments — weekly or monthly — based on their village's coffee sales performance. Disbursed via mobile money or cooperative accounts, ensuring transparency and reducing delays.
Funding for primary schools, secondary schools, and vocational training centers. Scholarships, teacher training, and learning materials for farmers' children.
Free or subsidized health clinics, birthhouses, and mobile medical units. Essential medicines and maternal care for farmers and their families.
Modern farming machinery, organic fertilizers, improved seedlings, greenhouses, and processing upgrades — managed to ensure equitable access for all partner farmers.
Paid school teachers. Built classrooms. Teenagers starting university — perhaps even our own institution one day.
Free medical services in the village. Birthhouses. Essential medicines. No more choosing between treatment and food.
Cash in farmers' pockets — not middlemen's. Regular, predictable payments that build financial stability.
Modern equipment, organic inputs, greenhouses. The tools to grow more and better — without debt.
By vertically integrating the supply chain — from farm to global market — and reinvesting profits into communities, UFB creates a self-sustaining cycle of prosperity.

Farmer's Benefit Acknowledgment: Every benefit — whether cash, fertilizer, school fees, or clothing — is documented on a signed receipt. The farmer, the village, the type of benefit, and the quantity are all recorded and stored in Central Files.
No exploitation of images: Photographs of farmers receiving benefits are strictly prohibited. The dignity of beneficiaries is protected. The receipt is the evidence; the genuine experience is the proof.
Third-party audits: Annual impact reports with independent verification. Farmer feedback systems to measure real outcomes. Public accountability for every dollar.
